Overnight Oats w Hemp Seeds
When I discovered overnight oats it genuinely changed my life! Between university and work I was struggling for time in the mornings to get in a nourishing breakfast. Overnight oats were a total game changer, a blessing, my saviour. A few minutes the night before whipping these together can make a huge different the next day. These are an absolute favourite and can be adapted easily to suit personal preference- try different seasonal fruits, nuts and seeds, shredded coconut, cocoa nibs- the possibilities are endless. Try making it in a jar to have on the go!
Hemp seeds, also referred to as hemp hearts are technically a nut. They have a mild, nutty flavour, in my opinion, reminiscent of a pine nut combined with a sesame seed. They are a rich source of essential fatty acids, linoleic acid (omega-6) and alpha-linolenic acid (omega-3). Hemp hearts are also a great source of high-quality protein.

1/3 cup oats
1 tbsp chia
1 tbsp My Hemple hemp seed
½ preferred milk
¼ tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp vanilla
Optional to serve
1 tbsp Niulife coconut flakes
1 tsp My Hemple hemp seeds
handful of preferred fruit
A drizzle of honey, maple, Niulife Coconut nectar or preferred sweetener
METHOD: Add oats, chia, hemp seeds and milk to a jar or bowl and set aside for half an hour or overnight. Serve with fruit, preferred sweetener and or more hemp seeds.
